About Me

Ghislaine Couvillat

As a wild swimmer, you are more likely to find me stopped in contemplation and with an underwater camera in my hand than trying to better my swim time. I am often spellbound by the ocean and the wildlife that inhabits it, with a special love for jellyfish. I am fascinated by waves, rough seascapes and water aesthetics.

I love nature generally and grew up walking and foraging in one of France’s most beautiful and rural areas, La Creuse. I currently live in another one of France’s most beautiful departments, Haute Savoie, with its stunning mountains and lake landscapes. Part of my heart has also been lost to the Isles of Scilly, which in the past has also often featured in my photography.

When I am not travelling for film production, you might be able to see me swimming in Lake Geneva, sometimes pulling the ruckraft you see in the picture below.
